The objectives of the .study were; to examine the role of Uganda’s .Minis~y of Foreign Affairs on policy implementation in East African community, to identify the challenges faced by Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on policy implementation in East Affican community and to access the solutions to the challenges facing Uganda’s Minist~ of Foreign Affairs in policy implementation in East African community. The cross~sectional research design was used by the researcher. This was used to obtain information on the current state of the phenomenon using quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies. This design was good for study because it generated quickly selfreports from selected participants under study. Cross section desi.gn was adopted since the case study across a diverse section of people. Quantitative and qualitative data collection approaches were used in this case. The quantitative approach was used because it involved th.e use of descriptive statistics to be generated using frequency tables and variables that were measured in numbers and analyzed using statistical procedures, while the qualitative approach were used because it included the use of responses from respondents From the findings, the descriptive statistics ofthe independent variable that is the roles ofUganda’s Minist~ of Foreign Affairs on policy implementation in East African community affairs on policy implementation in East African community. From its results, the study pulled out main perceptions of the three selected departments in Uganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs towards the essence ofthe roles ofUganda’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on policy implementation in East African community. In the light of above discussion, it can be concluded that, Uganda is a landlocked countiy that depends on foreign imports for most of its consumer goods and energy requirements. Thus, even before independence, maintaining an open trade route to the Indian Ocean was a prima~ foreign policy objective. The recommends a review on the sector Acts and Policies with the view to remove duplications and overlaps so as to enhance productivity by all sector players and actors. As an important socio-economic sector, the study recommends that the sector should be gi~ en its due attention through among other things; conducting research to establish the full worth of the sector and its contribution to social and economic development.
